On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, congratulated Rostyslav Babiichuk, prominent public figure who headed the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1956-1971, on the 100th anniversary.
"Your destiny is intertwined with the destiny of the Motherland, whom you have dedicated the prime of your life, your knowledge, experience and creative energy," V.Lytvyn stated, addressing the hero of an anniversary. "The biggest part of your activity is connected with the cultural-artistic revival of Ukraine, social regeneration, development of national conscience, and detection of the cultural identity of the nation."
R. Babiichuk´s over-year governance over the Ministry of Culture of USSR revealed "his best traits: creative energy, piercing intelligence, expertise, talent of an organizer, and courage in decision-making."
"Fulfilling your noble vocation, you observed loyalty to the professional and civic duty, decency, fidelity to principle, and humanism," V.Lytvyn stated. He wished R. Babiichuk that "this anniversary tops up his strength and inspiration, becoming a step towards new achievements."
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine talked with the hero of an anniversary, gave him the presents, and promised to support re-issue of his autobiography "Pages of Working Life."
